Throughout his practice, William N. Ota has represented a wide range of business entities, small and large, local and global. He has also represented and provided consultation services to the federal government, the State of Hawaii, the City and County of Honolulu, and the Counties of Maui and Kauai. Mr. Ota has appeared in proceedings before the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii and State of Hawaii Circuit Courts. He has represented clients in arbitrations, mediations, and administrative proceedings, and has drafted and testified in support of proposed legislation intended to minimize corporate exposure to unnecessary litigation.
Mr. Ota joined MJW as an associate in February 2006 and continues to represent and counsel management with respect to employment-related litigation and labor issues.
Prior to joining the firm, he specialized in insurance defense litigation, particularly medical malpractice defense and lawsuits involving catastrophic personal injury. His practice areas have also included employment law, hospital law, and various aspects of health care law.
Mr. Ota is a graduate of Illinois College and the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law. He has been in private practice since 1997.
